Best time: โ€“ ยท Right-click or long-press to place a flag.

How to play

  1. Click or tap a square to open it. Your first click is always safe and opens an area.
  2. Read the numbers: each shows how many of the 8 neighbouring squares hide a mine.
  3. Flag mines with a right-click, a long-press on touch screens, or switch on ๐Ÿšฉ Flag mode so taps place flags.
  4. Chord: clicking an opened number whose flags are all placed opens all its other neighbours at once.

On phones the expert board (30ร—16) is shown in portrait (16ร—30) and can be scrolled inside its frame. Keyboard: arrow keys move, Enter opens, F places a flag.

Frequently asked questions

Can the first click hit a mine?

No. Mines are placed after your first click, away from that square and its neighbours.

How do I place a flag on a phone?

Long-press a square, or turn on ๐Ÿšฉ Flag mode so a normal tap places or removes a flag.

Is Minesweeper always solvable by logic?

Not always. Like the classic game, some boards need a guess near the end.
